Elizabeth Wood

Elizabeth qualified as a doctor in 2011 in Sheffield and completed ACCS Emergency Medicine in Edinburgh in 2018. She is now a GP trainee in Gloucestershire and has almost completed the Nepalese Diploma in Mountain Medicine.

She has an interest in wilderness medicine and global health and holds Diplomas in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, and in the Medical Care of Catastrophes. She has used medicine as an opportunity to work abroad, including South Africa, New Zealand, Greece and Sierra Leone. She has a passion for mountains, ranging from climbing in Antarctica to West Papua. When not mountaineering, in her spare time she enjoys trail running.

Previous wilderness medicine experience includes: medic for mountain running events in the UK, doctor for a search and rescue helicopter company covering Mount Kilimanjaro (KiliSAR) and volunteer doctor for the International Porter Protection Group, Nepal.
