Expedition Doctor

After completing her medical and BSc degrees at St George’s University of London Lizzie wanted to combine her passion for sports and adventure with the love for her job. She has worked on multiple expeditions of various longevity and terrain as well as supported extreme sporting events including ultra-endurance races and adventure racing – Including being a part of WEM’s medical team for Amazon Primes ‘The World Toughest Race’ with Bear Grylls.

She has previously volunteered her time with a variety of charities including Simons Mango Tree which organises a team of surgeons, anaesthetists, surgical assistants and recovery nurses to travel to Northern Ghana helping provide surgical support and training. More recently she has volunteered in South Africa as an emergency and trauma medical officer and worked in the emergency department of the hospital which was the original epicentre of the UK COVID-19 outbreak.
