Luca Carenzo


Luca completed training in Anaesthesia and is currently working as a critical care clinical fellow at the Royal London Hospital.

During his training, he spent a significant amount of time in critical care and resuscitation units developing clinical knowledge and skills regarding the critical patient. Luca has performed humanitarian work with MSF/ Doctors without Borders having worked in their trauma centre in Yemen during the current civil war and has worked under significant security measures, active fire and managed a large number of blast injuries.

Luca’s interest in medical education and medical simulation has lead to him to collaborate with the SIMNOVA simulation centre at the Università del Piemonte Orientale since it’s opening in 2015.

Luca co-created the Italian national simulation competition for registrars (SIMCUP) now in its third edition and has developed the month-long induction programme for incoming registrars at the Università del Piemonte Orientale anaesthesia postgraduate programme as well as participating as an instructor in numerous disaster and emergency medicine courses.
