Fancy a weekend in the Brecon Beacons? The Youth Adventure Trust urgently needs a medic, due to last minute drop out, to support one of its fundraising challenges.
You’ll be working with a team of hill marshals and comms guys who have lots of experience of UK hill challenge events – and we’re quite nice too! Taylor Wimpey Brecon 10 Peaks Challenge
This first half of the route takes in 6 peaks and should be completed in just over five hours. Teams then head west to complete the second circuit of the route, which includes a further, four peaks and should take just under five hours. Route cards are provided as well as VHF radios for communications and qualified mountain marshals.
The event will be rounded off with an evening reception and party at the Brecon Castle Hotel. Each team will receive a certificate marking their achievement and a prize will be awarded to the team with the highest level of fundraising. Read more here….
When: It’s a one day event. Saturday 8th March – 7am to 7pm. Brecon Map
Location: We will be based in the car parks near Storey Arms Centre with our comms. Car park 1, 200m south of Storey Arms Outdoor Centre, same side of road on A470, just outside Brecon. We then move to car park 2 as the teams do the second half of the loop. This car park is directly opposite the Storey Arms. They may get posted on the hill at certain sections..although more likely we’ll keep them at base and move around if required.
Shared accommodation on either or both Friday and Saturday evening. The accommodation will be with our hill marshals. Meal provided Friday evening. You’ll need their own snacks for the Saturday / early morning start but we will organise sandwiches etc during the day. They are welcome to stay for the knees up on Saturday night if you want to…
