Join our esteemed alumni network as you contribute to expeditions worldwide, respond to emergencies, and secure placements with prestigious organisations like Raleigh International, UK-Med, Team Rubicon, and Médecins Sans Frontières.

During the initial three days, immerse yourself in a dynamic learning environment, with your time evenly split between lectures and group activities.

We also welcome those with an expedition background who have existing wilderness or advanced first aid training and are eager to develop their skillset further.

Accreditation:

  • CPD: The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh have awarded this course 24 CPD hours.
  • FAWM: This course has been approved for Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) credits through the Wilderness Medical Society. Actual credits awarded depend on personal credit needs and history.

Your Safety & Kit List Preparation

The comprehensive curriculum and field scenarios are carefully designed to push your limits while mitigating risks.

We take every precaution to keep participants safe by:

  • Mandatory evacuation insurance policies
  • Close coordination with local emergency responders

Kit List
Unpredictable weather is common meaning poor kit preparation can be dangerous and could preclude you from activities. You will be outside for at least 4 hours each day, so please make sure to review our Expedition & Wilderness Kit List before arriving.

We highly recommend arriving the day before the course. You can book additional accommodation for the Sunday night directly with Plas y Brenin.
