Our Expedition & Wilderness Medicine course set on the shores of the stunning Lake Bohinj offers the same great content as our UK-based courses with additional workshops, a night out bivvying and more time outdoors.
You’ll spend over half your time focusing on practical group work and there’ll be a chance to explore the mountain behind the hostel. Our team of experienced expedition medics will deliver various lectures covering the essential content you need to know out on expedition anywhere across the globe. At the end of the Expedition and Wilderness Medicine course we’ll spend a night out building our camps and bivvying under the stars, your final challenge will be a search and rescue exercise designed to test your skills in combination.
Accreditation will be offered through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. We estimate 30 hours of CPD will be awarded for the complete course.

Do you need travel and health insurance?
The UK Foreign Office advises,” The EHIC won’t cover medical repatriation, ongoing medical treatment or non-urgent treatment, so you should make sure you have adequate travel insurance and accessible funds to cover the cost of any medical treatment and repatriation.”
We never advise travel without adequate insurance, there are a wide variety of options at a very affordable rate.…it really is worth it!
