Where the human goes medicine must follow – true words. However, when the destination is novel and on the ragged edge of survivable, medicine takes more of a lead role in protecting, enabling, and documenting that very human activity of exploration.
Space medicine has matured in practice and expanded in scope, and has served as an effective focus for cooperation between nations, agencies and industry.
