FAQs
How long does the game take to play?
That’s up to you. You can dip in for a quick 5-minute round, or explore all the possible decision paths and endings over a longer session. There are over 10 different outcomes depending on the choices you make.
Do I need medical experience to play?
Nope! Thats the beauty of it – you don’t need a medical background to give it a go. But if you are a clinician, you might find the scenarios especially relevant to real-world challenges in remote or hostile settings.
Is this based on a real course?
Yes. The game is inspired by our Hostile Environment Medicine Course — an immersive 7-day programme delivered in the Namibian wilderness. It’s designed to help healthcare professionals learn to operate safely and effectively in high-risk, remote environments.
Will this help me decide if the course is right for me?
It’s a great first step.
While the game doesn’t replicate the full depth of the training, it gives you a taste of the decision-making mindset we help you develop on the course.
If you want to find out whether this course is right for you, check out our Course Fit Checker Quiz over on the course page.
Want to go further? You can also book a discovery call with our team.
Do I get anything after completing the game?
Yes! if you opt in with your email, you’ll get:
-
A bonus debrief from WEM instructors
-
Exclusive resources on prolonged casualty care and hostile environment response
-
A free downloadable course poster to keep the inspiration going
Can I replay and try different outcomes?
Absolutely! Part of the challenge is exploring how different decisions play out. No two runs are the same, and there are multiple short and long endings depending on your medical and tactical choices.
