Humanitarian Medicine Course
Corfe, UK
Intensive 4-day training in humanitarian and disaster medicine, equipping you with life-saving skills to make a difference worldwide.
Humanitarian medicine is practised in complex, resource-limited environments where systems are disrupted, needs are high, and decisions carry real consequences.
This four-day Humanitarian Medicine course focuses on the clinical, public health, and operational realities of working in humanitarian and disaster settings. You’ll explore how healthcare is delivered in conflict zones, disaster responses, displaced populations, and fragile health systems, where standard clinical pathways often don’t apply.
Through expert-led teaching grounded in real deployments, you’ll develop the knowledge, judgement, and contextual awareness needed to adapt your practice, work safely within humanitarian structures, and contribute effectively as part of a wider response.
The principles covered on this course are directly applicable to global health work, humanitarian deployments, and emergency care in underserved or high-pressure environments, both internationally and closer to home.

Is this course right for me?
This course is designed for healthcare professionals and students who want to understand and apply humanitarian and disaster medicine principles in real-world settings. It’s well suited to those exploring humanitarian deployments, global health work, disaster response, or anyone who wants to strengthen their ability to deliver care in disrupted, resource-limited environments.
You don’t need previous humanitarian experience, just curiosity, professionalism, and a willingness to engage with complex decision-making.
Do I need previous humanitarian medicine training?
No. This course is structured as a clear, supported introduction to humanitarian and disaster medicine. If you’ve completed a Humanitarian Medicine Course (or similar), you may recognise some planning and resource-limited thinking, but it’s not a requirement.

Why Enrol in the Humanitarian Medicine Course?
In an era of escalating crises, humanitarian medical skills are in higher demand than ever. The number of armed conflicts worldwide reached a record high in recent years, with civilians bearing the brunt of wars and disasters. As a result, an estimated 305 million people around the globe will require humanitarian aid in 2025 – more than double the number just five years ago. By enrolling in this course, you’ll prepare yourself to meet this urgent need and deliver effective medical aid in disaster zones, refugee camps, and resource-poor environments.
This course is designed to give you the medical knowledge and practical skills required to work in resource-limited settings and humanitarian crisis contexts. Whether your goal is to volunteer with international aid organisations, improve healthcare in underserved communities, or enhance your emergency medicine capabilities at home, a formal training in humanitarian medicine will build your confidence and competence. Structured extreme medicine courses provide comprehensive coverage of crucial skills and can equip you with the confidence to manage health challenges in austere conditions.
In short, the program will empower you to adapt, lead, and deliver care in crises – wherever your medical career takes you.
You will earn formal continuing professional development hours while acquiring these life-saving skills.
